Wellness in the Winter

January 19, 2023

The holiday season may be over, but the winter season is here to stay.

Along with those brisk winter days, flu, cold, and COVID-19 season have kicked into high gear. With the increased spread of these viruses during the winter months, they are oftentimes brought to the forefront of our minds.

To help combat these viruses and increase your chances of staying healthy this winter season, we remind you of some simple things you can implement into your everyday routine!

1. Nourish your body. By nourishing your body with nutritious foods, staying hydrated, and taking regular vitamins and supplements, your body can naturally build immunity against these viruses.

 2. Prioritize your sleep health. Sleep is the natural process that your body uses to help repair itself. Sleep is also vital for better mental health, increased concentration and memory, a healthier immune system, reduced stress, improved mood, and even a better metabolism.

 3. Wash your hands often. Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is one of the best ways to protect yourself from catching illnesses and spreading germs to others.

 4. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose. Not touching your face can decrease your chances of catching viruses and also help your skin health, as well!

 5. Try not to get in close contact with people who are sick. Those who are sick can oftentimes spread viruses more easily when they are in close contact with others.

Your health is important all year long, but the winter months can be the toughest as our immune systems may not be as strong. Try these tips out for yourself to help boost your immune system to keep you and your loved ones healthy, no matter the season!
