Recognizing Those Who Make Our Community Healthier

May 30, 2025

Every day in Monroe County, nonprofits are quietly and courageously working to make our community a healthier, more equitable place. They’re building partnerships and tackling urgent challenges—all while navigating limited resources and growing needs.

At Bloomington Health Foundation, we believe this work deserves to be seen. It deserves to be celebrated, and it deserves to be supported. That’s why we’re creating the Community Impact Awards—to recognize bold ideas, collaborative efforts, and visionary leaders shaping the future of health in our region.

Honoring Local Leadership in Action

The Community Impact Awards highlight three core values that drive progress in our community:

  • Innovation – implementing creative, scalable solutions to complex health challenges
  • Collaboration – working across sectors to amplify our collective impact
  • Leadership – guiding the way toward better health outcomes for all

From frontline nonprofits addressing food insecurity, to grassroots teams improving access to care, to community leaders investing in long-term solutions—these awards are about elevating the people and the work that makes it all possible.

Why Recognition Matters

Recognition isn’t just a pat on the back. It’s a way to invest in the people who invest in us. It draws attention to what’s working, encourages continued impact, and inspires others to get involved.

In a world where nonprofit professionals are often stretched thin, a moment of recognition can offer both validation and momentum. It says, “We see you. We value your work. We believe in your vision for a healthier community.”
